Stimpson #2 Plain Grommet & Washer

Stimpson #2 plain grommets and washers are available in both brass and stainless steel. Plain grommets and washers provide signs and banners with basic but reliable hole reinforcement. The brass variant of the #2 plain grommet and washer is available in a variety of different finishes including dull black chemical matte oxide finish, nickel or plain brass. Although a pre-punched hole is required, the complete Stimpson Modular Hand Drive set, which includes an appropriate  hole punch, or the 405 bench press can set the grommet and washer with ease in the sign or banner material.

Stimpson #2 Self-Piercing Grommet & Washer

Available in brass or stainless steel, Stimpson’s #2 self-piercing grommet pinches the sign or banner material between the barrel of the grommet and the flat edge of the washer then cuts a hole in the material in one action. The brass self-piercing grommet is manufactured from heavier gauge brass, while the stainless steel variant is manufactured from marine grade 304 stainless steel. Manual or automatic grommet presses easily set #2 self-piercing grommets without the need to pre-punch a hole. When setting #2 self-piercing grommets, it is vital that you use the corresponding die.

In addition to the standard #2 self-piercing grommet and washer, Stimpson’s self-piercing line includes the 2XL featuring a longer neck for thicker materials. Just like their standard counterparts, the brass and stainless steel 2XL self-piercing grommet and washer is set with a manual or automatic grommet press without the need to pre-punch holes in a wide variety of materials.

Using a telescoping barrel to barrel setting, Stimpson’s #2 brass grommet and neck washer reinforces the hole with two entire parts. #2 grommets with neck washers are ideal for thicker gauge textiles, mesh vinyl or corrugated plastic. Manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic grommet setting machines set #2 grommets and neck washers since the washer’s neck allow it to be guided down the track (aka “the roadway”) of the setting machine.
